Born Pablo Roman-Alcalá in San Francisco at the very beginning of 1980, Beaner easily found music. A mother who even now is playing in live bands, and a multi instrumentalist father encouraged him early with trumpet and afro-cuban percussion lessons and a constant input of music at home.
 

At the age of 12 Beaner made his first fumbling attempts at making 4/4 electronic music. Using the living room stereo, a boombox with a mic, a couple different electric keyboards, a big pillow, and various forms of hand percussion he knocked out a 4 minute super lo-fi industrial sounding racket.

At 17 he started djing birthday parties, illegal basement parties pretending to be legitimate bars, and punk rock dance parties. After quitting for four years, he restarted in 2002 taking it seriously enough to decide to move to Berlin in 2004. Since 2004 Beaner has been played in Germany, Austria, Sweden, England, Scotland, and the US. He"s held a residency at Eric D. Clark"s now defunct Manyc Monday party along with playing regularly at Berlin clubs and parties. Currently he runs monthly 24 hour after-hour Im Fruehtau with partner Sam Ear where artists such as Chica Paula, Miss Fitz, GummiHz, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Red Robin and Denis Karimani have played.

He has also released the "viaje a villa san bonobo" ep with District of Corruption and remixes with label boss Aaron Hedges of Alex Tsiridis and Sweet"n"Candy. This year will bring releases with S.F. based partner CLAWS as War Vs Sleep and a whole slew of other collaborative, solo, and remix work. His mixture of low slung thug house, afterhour confusion, and peak time percussion, makes of Beaner´s sound a special experience.
