About
Dima was born in 1977 Kazakhstan | Russian Federation admidst chaos and the flurry of shooting stars. As a child he was fastinated by the fantasy of space, a wonder of stars and moonshine. In 1992 the gates opened as communism tumbled and he moved with his family to Germany | Europe.
At the age of 18 his enchantment with music began to develope and he started collecting records, playing with technical instruments and toying with expiremental sounds. He would bring his records home and sneak them onto his parents record-player. As time went on he bought his own turntable with the intent to learn the art of the "skratch".
His humble beginings at a small town cafe on saturday nights grew into a crucial chance to play at a famous techno club called Stammheim-Kassel in 1998. The club signed him on as one of the Stammheim-resident-artists for about four years. After the Stammheim-closing by 2002 he was one of the resident-artists at the club called Hotel-Reiss-Kassel for one year. At this time he was also featured under Project Name Dimatrix on the track "nash funk" by a studio mate M.Schmeisser. They released "Hueftgold EP" the first EinMalEins-Musik cataloque number. He had grown up from a dabbling teenage disc jockey; electronic dance music had poisoned his mind and penetrated his soul.
In 2003 he moved to the capital city of Germany to restart motivation with innovation. He played in Berlin at a few casual events and the urbanites became interested. He started getting gigs at clubs like Watergate, ArenaClub, Bar25, Club Der Visionaire. He dove into delicious events like Beatstreet, Klangspiel, Betriebsfeier.
In 2005 he was one of the winners of a young-producers-competition called "Hotze-Compilation" compiled by Pierre for the original comic-book sound track "A night at pussy galore." It was drawn by Bringmann&Kopetzki artists from Groove-magazine(Ger); the track "f.fabians disko dub" produced by B.Cares & Dimatrix was also used by DJ Pierre on his Mix-CD. After the book and the mixcompilation most of the tracks from o.s.t. were released by HoerSpielMusik on four split-eps.
In current moments he is working on soundscapes for film arts and planning his various space voyages. But most importantly he is concerned with keeping the groove alive, the scintilating deep intonations, modulations and vibrations that keep dancer on the floor. The best sets are not those time-tabled-cutup-mixes. The magic of a set begins when you are finally getting started in the heavy sweat and clamour of an after hour that has been going for hours into hours into days.
The drums need to become a drama.
