The two musicians from Spoony Talker have been traveling with the Bar25 crew for ages, in fact they are so close-knit as to be a major influence on the very fabric of its existence – and yet they’ve never put anything out on the Bar25 label. That is, until now.
The real meat of Spoony Talker is - without a doubt - their live performance. One of the most vivid examples of this is their Bar-Closing-Gig 2010. Just listen to the crowd scream on the recording! (Live at closing bar25 sept.2010 by spoony talker).
These two gentlemen are fully in charge of their machines, using them to generate a warm, bass-orientated sound while Philip Spohn, the guy on the microphone, creates hooks and sets a course with his deep and smokey voice. The term „one-of-a-kind“ seems to be highly appropriate for guys like Spoony Talker.
So finally (after releases on Datze with Niconé and others) there’s a nice 4 track EP coming up on Bar25. The main track „Good Times (ft. Ja Hier)“ has been remixed by our Label Matador Philip Bader. So try out the groove of Spoony Talker – and watch them live whenever you get the chance!
